Second day in Berlin
on Sep.30, 2010, under Berlin
An amazing step ahead: I got an adapter today!
Well, it wasn’t so much an adapter as it was a cable since the adapter didn’t match.
None the less, I went to the Cellular Phone Shop (O2) and found out that
in order to buy a phone contract (vertrag) I need to have a bank account (local).
And so, I went to the bank… only to find that I need to register myself and have
some sort of address to get a bank account.
After realizing that, I went to register in the Anmeldung office (or what not),
only to find that I need some more documents that I didn’t have at the time…
First day in Berlin
on Sep.30, 2010, under Berlin
There are 2 things I found out about on the first day:
- Electric Adapters – never forget them
- Never hesitate to put your baggage in a locker on the Bahn,
(no matter how sure are you that “I’ll be in the apartment any minute now”)
My first day was mostly me walking with 2 Tons of baggage on my back in Warschauer Straße.
It was less than ideal at first, but after eating some Pizza&Beer everything was better:
After that I finally settled into the Apartment, slept through the night..
Only to find out that I don’t have the right Adapter for the outlet in Germany (or any Adapter at all)..

What’s EAV? Entity-Attribute-Value.
It is mostly used for shopping cart websites where you have
things like Price, Color, etc.

How I created an Auto-backup using Git
on Sep.20, 2010, under Brainstorming, Technology
During work we use to have a really stressful time.
Everyone was using each other’s folders
(mainly happens in new projects… and an overenthusiastic project designer).
After 3-4 accidental deletions of my project folder,
I decided to simply backing up once a day is not enough.
So I created a bash file, copy the files and committing them via git
(an excellent way to manage your source code).
